Election policy is stated is the Skagit County Park & Recreation Adult Softball Rules
and must be followed.
Bats need to be checked at every game. Bats must have a 2004
ASA sticker. Bats can not be on banned list. (list is available on our web site
www.softballjournal.com)
If you are not sure that a bat is legal, do not allow it to be used until the player
can prove that it is legal.
If you see alcohol in the dugout, ask the coach to see
to it that it is removed. If you see any after that your are to eject someone. Then
follow up with an incident report that you can get from Fred.
None of the leagues
that we umpire use the ASA positioning rule in co-ed games. Male and female players
may be anywhere on the field. This is true for the county even though their league
rule sheet does not say so.
Umpires need to start wearing proper uniforms. Gray pants
or Navy blue shorts, ASA powder blue shirt or navy blue shirt and to ASA approved
jacket and an ASA approved hat.
. All our umpires have now been working for a year or more. It is time to invest
in the proper clothes and wear them to the games. If you have questions or need help

When only one umpire
out of the four up at the college is in proper uniform it hurts the integrity of
our association. Let's show some more pride.
SVSUA schedules games to umpires for the customers and umpires are independent contractors, not employees of SVSUA
Umpires can accept or decline games from the customers who use SVSUA member umpires
Umpires decide the games and the location of the games they desire to umpire based on the fact of being independent contractors
Umpires provide their own uniforms and equipment as independent contractors but meet minimum safety and professional standards set by their customers
